2 stabbed, 1 arrested in NE Phila. melee

Two people were stabbed after an altercation in a Northeast Philadelphia rooming house.

It happened along the 800 block of Sanger Street shortly before 9:00 p.m.

Police and medics were called to a report of a stabbing.

Authorities say a 33-year-old woman was stabbed four times, once in the head, once in the face and twice in the left arm.

A 54-year-old male who attempted to break up the melee suffered a knife wound to his right arm. He is the landlord of the building.

Both victims were transported to Albert Einstein Medical Center.

Police arrested a 50-year old man who was wielding a knife.

No further information about the incident has been released.
