Dr. Pakman knew he had to do something about the hungry.
But he's also been troubled about the number of people who can't afford dental care, or who have been putting it off.
So he is combining the two in one drive.
For $39, he is offering oral examinations, x-rays, and dental cleanings, with all of the proceeds going to the Manna On Main street community food pantry in Lansdale.
Dr. Pakman says the $39 will improve a person's dental health, while feeding two families at the same time.
All a person has to do is call by July 31st to make an appointment. You can come in later for the acutual exam and cleaning. Dr. Pakman says he may extend the offer into August.
"In a troubled economy that affects many Americans, the spirit of giving to others is needed more than ever. The more people who know about this effort, the more needy families can receive aid," Dr. Pakman concludes.
