2 persons of interest sought in deadly stabbing

WARMINSTER, Pa. - July 27, 2011

At around 2:30 a.m. Sunday, the Warminster Township Police Department responded to a reported stabbing at 120 E. Street Road Warminster Township.

Responding officers located Tyrone Newman, 33, lying in front of an apartment with numerous stab wounds to various parts of his body.

Newman was taken to a local hospital where he died from his injuries.

Detectives are pursuing two persons of interest.

The first person is identified as 24-year-old John T. Briggs. He is 5' tall, 135 pounds with "John" tattooed on his right arm.

The second person is identified as a black male in his 20's known as "Turtle." He is between 5' and 5'2 with a large facial laceration.

Anyone with information concerning the whereabouts of Briggs and/or the name and whereabouts of "Turtle" should call The Citizens Crime Commission at (215) 546-TIPS or Warminster Township Police/Bucks County Detectives at (215) 672-1000.

The Citizens Crime Commission is administering a $1,000 reward for any information that would lead to the arrest and conviction of the individual(s) responsible for the murder of Tyrone Newman.
