The accident happened at approximately 11:40 a.m. along northbound I-95, south of DE Route 141.
The crash happened when a Volvo SUV collided with another vehicle on the highway.
The Volvo overturned, coming to rest against the concrete median, trapping the occupants inside.
EMS responded to the scene. It took workers approximately 30 minutes to free the trapped victims.
There is no word on their condition at this time.
Traffic was snarled in both directions on I-95 south of Wilmington, for more than an hour, as a result of the accident.
