Car strikes utility pole, 2 officers left injured

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA - July 31, 2011

It happened around 2:00 a.m. along Broad Street and Pattison Avenue.

The two officers were riding in an unmarked police car when they were struck by another vehicle.

The impact of the crash caused the officers to lose control and slam into a utility pole.

A 27-year old male officer was treated and released from Jefferson University Hospital for a leg injury.

A 32-year old male officer suffered a broken leg and was also taken to Jefferson University Hospital for treatment.

The driver of the other vehicle was not injured.

No word on what caused the crash.
