The fire broke out around 2:45 on Monday morning, in the unit block of East Wister Street.
When firefighters arrived they found six-foot flames spitting out of the dwelling's windows of the first and second floors.
The fire quickly spread to the third floor.
It took almost a half hour for crews to gain control of the blaze.
There are no reports of injuries.
Investigators are searching for the cause.
