The shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. at the intersection of W Tioga and N Marvine streets.
The 32-year-old victim was shot once in the abdomen. He was taken to Temple University Hospital by private vehicle where he was later pronounced dead at 3:25 a.m.
The victim's name is not being released at this time.
Homicide detectives are still working on the initial investigation.
No arrests have been made.
