She made an appearance at the Kmart at The Gallery to promote her "Dream Out Loud" fall clothing line, which is sold there.
Only the first 100 fans were lucky enough to meet Gomez and get an autographed poster.
Two young ladies from Marlton, N.J woke up at 4:00 a.m. to get there.
"This is so cool. I'm so excited right now you don't even know. I just hugged Selena Gomez, this is awesome," said Lauren Glatz.
The Thomas sisters can't even spell Selena yet but were thrilled with their autographs.
"I'm her number one fan," said Jayla Thomas.
Even the fans that didn't get to meet Gomez personally were happy get so close to the 19-year-old starlet.
"She's so beautiful and I love her voice," said Justine Dang.
Parents like Shana Earland , who took their children to the big event, say the clean-cut image Gomez projects to her young fans is one of the reasons they were willing to get up early and brave the crowds.
"I surprised my daughter this morning. We came down and were a little too late to meet her but seeing her this close, I think my daughter enjoyed it," said Earland.
This was just the start for the young star during her trip to Philadelphia.
She also has plans to visit a local hospital before her big concert Friday night at the Mann Music Center.
