States of Emergency lifted in many areas

  • Mayor Michael Nutter announced that a state of emergency, put in place on Saturday night, will be lifted at 12:00 noon on Sunday. Still, he asked residents to stay in their homes if they did not need to be out as damage assessment and cleanup was underway.

  • The State of Emergency Declaration for North Wales Borough has been lifted.


  • Effective 12 noon on Sunday, residents who were ordered to evacuate the Barrier Islands and residences east of Route 9 on the mainland, may now return. The mandatory evacuation order has been lifted including the 9 p.m. - 6 a.m. curfew.

  • The state travel bans on the Garden State Parkway and the Atlantic City Expressway have also been lifted.

  • Atlantic County emergency officials are currently evaluating transportation needs and available resources to help facillitate the return of individuals to their communities. Residents who experienced storm-related damage to their properties should report it to their local emergency management offices.

  • Casinos is Atlantic City will reopen Monday.

  • At 6:00 a.m. Monday morning, tolls will be reinstated.


  • Delaware has lifted the evacuation order for coastal residents and is allowing businesses to reopen. A limited state of emergency remains in effect during the cleanup.
