A 64-year-old East Norriton woman has been killed by Irene's fury.

Whitemarsh police recovered the body of 64-year-old Patricia O'Neill at about 5:00 p.m. today along the Wissahickon Creek in Whitemarsh Township.

O'Neill informed family early this morning, around 2:00 a.m., that she was headed to her job at Genuardi's in Flourtown.

O'Neill didn't make it to work. Instead, her vehicle was found in the Wissahickon Creek South of Skippack Pike.

O'Neill's body was recovered along the creek about a half-mile away from the vehicle.

The Montgomery County coroner's office is also assisting in the investigation.
