Police were notified by the Coast Guard of a body found in the water at 8:21 a.m. Monday.
After a brief search, the body was found along the 2900 block of Columbus Blvd.
He had identification on him, police said, but they are not yet releasing the name.
Police did say, however, that he was a 36-year-old man.
The circumstances of the incident are not yet clear.
