Bail, monitoring for witness in Pa. murder case

BETHLEHEM, Pa. - September 17, 2011

Northampton County President Judge Kimberly McFadden on Friday granted prosecutors' request to place 24-year-old Algee Macon under protective bail and electronic monitoring when he is released from prison next month after serving an aggravated assault sentence.

Macon is a key witness in the case against 26-year-old Daniel Macon, who is accused of having ordered a hit on rival drug dealers in Bethlehem in December 2006. Authorities say the gunman went to the wrong apartment and shot 15-year-old Kevin Muzila.

Algee Macon originally refused to testify at a preliminary hearing but did so last month after being threatened with contempt.
