Police say that just past midnight on Thursday, the car went out of control at 15th and Diamond and ran into the pole.
The pole slammed to the sidewalk, snapping power lines as it fell.
The sparking lines caused a small fire.
Emergency crews got to the corner quickly.
Firefighters put out the fire and PECO crews made repairs.
Traffic was detoured for a couple of hours while crews did their work.
There are no reports of injuries and no word on whether the driver is facing any charges.
