Frugal blogger launches new local deal site

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Sept. 30, 2011

Ingram explains, "Unlike some of the daily deal sites, that might just focus on shopping, or dining, PhillyOnTheCheap.com focuses on everything. "

There are tips on free and cheap family activities, like free Sunday morning admissions at the Brandywine River Museum. There, young pirate fans can check out the exhibit on N.C. Wyeth's original illustrations for Treasure Island.

"What a fun place to take kids on a Sunday morning, for free and give them a little culture." Ingram says. "They'll have a lot of fun and you won't pay any money."

You can also find deals from well-known local busineses... Like a sale on jams from DiBruno Brothers.

Ingram explains, "Those are on sale right now, so instead of paying $5.99 a bottle or a jar, you'll get two for $10. "

There's a post on where to get cheap flu shots and a link to a coupon that'll take $3 off an admission ticket for Terror Behind the Walls at Eastern State Penitentiary. And next month, she'll be posting a list of salons offering $10 haircuts to raise money for breast cancer research.

If you're traveling, Ingram says, "PhillyOnTheCheap.com is part of this Cities on the Cheap network, so there are actually 40 different cities in the United States that all have these On The Cheap sites," she says.
