Phillies set NLDS series roster

PHILADELPHIA - September 30, 2011

The Phillies will carry:

Two catchers: Carlos Ruiz and Brian Schneider

Six infielders: Ryan Howard, Michael Martinez, Placido Polanco, Jimmy Rollins, Chase Utley and Wilson Valdez

Six outfielders: Ben Francisco, Ross Gload, Raúl Ibañez, John Mayberry Jr., Hunter Pence and Shane Victorino

11 pitchers: right-handers Joe Blanton, Roy Halladay, Kyle Kendrick, Brad Lidge, Ryan Madson, Roy Oswalt, Michael Stutes, Vance Worley and left-handers Antonio Bastardo, Cole Hamels and Cliff Lee.

Game One of the NLDS will be played at Citizens Bank Park on Saturday. First pitch is at 5:07 p.m.

Roy Halladay will get the start for the Phillies. Kyle Lohse, a former Phillie, will start for the Cardinals.

"We're looking forward to it," Halladay said at a Friday news conference. "You come out and play 162 games and you get to this point - this is the fun part!"

"We've been ready for a few days," manager Charlie Manuel said. "We're looking forward to it and I'm sure they are too."

The Cardinals are hot coming into the NLDS, winning 23 of 32 games down the stretch.
