The Federal Emergency Management Agency says President Obama has declared a disaster for two counties in Delaware after Hurricane Irene.

FEMA said in an email Friday that federal aid will be available to supplement state and local recovery in Kent and Sussex counties.

The money is available to state and local governments and some private nonprofit organizations for emergency work and repair or replacement of facilities damaged by the August hurricane.
