Police charge Mayhew tried to break into a Manassas, Va., home.
But the man who lives there bashed him with the first thing handy -- the guitar.
A local paper reports Mayhew passed out after getting hit with the instrument.
Mayhew now faces a number of charges, including unlawful entry and assault on a law enforcement officer.
