Police ID woman in Schuylkill River accident

EAST FALLS - October 6, 2011

Authorities say the woman's name is Chyrstal Wallace Farrow.

Farrow's body was discovered on Monday afternoon about a half mile from where the car went into the river.

Witnesses say Farrow's car sped across Kelly Drive, smashed through a retaining wall, and plunged into the river last Thursday.

Farrow managed to get out of the car, screamed for help, but was swept away by the current.

A tow truck pulled the 2008 silver Mercury Grand Marquis that night.

Farrow was not the owner of the car. Police have talked to the owner, however, and he allegedly told them he had lent the Mercury to a friend.

It has still not been determined why the car did not stop prior to going into the Schuylkill.
