Pickup slams into front of NE Phila. home

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - October 8, 2011

Police say that at around 2:30 on Saturday morning, the Dodge Dakota with a woman and three men inside, was speeding down the unit block of Langford Street.

Before it reached the end of dead-end street, the pickup went out of control.

It jumped the curb, flew across a lawn and landed on a front porch.

Right after the crash, the man driving and the female passenger in the front seat of the pickup ran off.

They remain on the loose.

The two men in the backseat were taken to Aria Hospital-Torresdale.

One of them is in stable condition, the other is in critical condition.

The elderly couple who live in the house were jarred out of their bed, but were not injured.

There's no word yet on whether the crash caused significant structural damage to the home.
