The shooting happened around 9:40 p.m. at the intersection of 33rd and Reed streets.
An unidentified man, believed to be in his 30's, was shot in the chest.
Police rushed the victim to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he was pronounced dead at 10:20 p.m..
At this time there is no word on a suspect or a motive.
