Thick smoke and flames roared from Burkes Tavern in Mt. Pocono Saturday afternoon as firefighters tried to get a handle on it.
The blaze was so fierce it melted power lines hanging next to the building and also destroyed several apartments above the tavern.
No injuries were reported.
