Enlarged heart killed Pa. prep football player

READING, Pa. - October 21, 2011

The Carlisle Sentinel reports the Berks County coroner was unable to rule out heat as a contributing factor in the death of Boiling Springs lineman Samuel Gitt.

Gitt was attending a football camp at Albright College when he collapsed in a dorm room after practice on July 22. He died that night at a hospital.

Thursday's report from the Sentinel says Gitt was 6-foot-3 and 325 pounds.

Players from several schools across the area attended the camp with their coaching staffs. Organizers closed the camp down early following Gitt's death.
