Crimefighters: HS dispute sparks multiple shooting

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - October 23, 2011

This was the scene in the 1200 block of South Bucknell Street on Tuesday night, September 27th.

Witnesses say an angry mob of teens, accompanied by a parent, were looking for a 14-year-old girl. Police say she had been involved in a fist fight that day with other girls over a dispute that started back in July with an angry exchange on face book. The mob barged into the girl's home brandishing sticks and golf clubs.

One witness described the mayhem.

Yvonne Manley a witness said, "Next thing I know, they were here and they bum rushed the girl and then everybody started fighting and then somebody down this way started dadgum shooting. I hit and ground and that was that."

Police say two young men started shooting. A two year old girl her 10-year-old brother, their 59-year-old grandmother and another man were wounded.

All are recovering.

Vigils and marches have been held, but so far, the shooters remain on the loose.

The NAACP and a local business have each put up 5 thousand dollars.

They're hoping a $10,000 reward will get someone to identify the gunmen.
