The incident happened around 9:00 p.m. Saturday in the 1400 block of North Hobart Street.
Police say an 8-year-old child darted between cars and was struck.
Authorities say the striking vehicle then fled the scene.
The boy was taken to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. He was released Sunday and is recovering at home.
The striking vehicle was located at 58th Street and Media Avenue, but the police are still looking for the driver.
