AP: Lawsuits bring more trouble for Trenton mayor

TRENTON, N.J. - October 26, 2011

A woman who says she was fired from Trenton's Parks and Recreation Division in September for refusing to obey illegal orders from the Mayor Tony Mack filed suit Wednesday.

Maria Richardson worked for the city for a decade.

Richardson says she was terminated because she refused to dole out jobs to the mayor's friends, give grant money to people who didn't apply, and for asking about missing money.

The lawsuit comes weeks after a judge reinstated two water utility employees who were suspended without pay because they said they provided information to authorities that resulted in the arrest of the mayor's half-brother.

Mack didn't return calls for comment.
