Vice President Biden's daughter is engaged
WASHINGTON - October 31, 2011
A spokeswoman for Jill Biden, the vice president's wife,
confirmed the engagement Monday. Spokeswoman Courtney O'Donnell
says the family is "thrilled" by the news.
Ashley Biden is a 30-year-old social worker. Her fiance, Dr.
Howard Krein, is a Philadelphia-based physician who specializes in
ear, nose and throat and in facial and reconstructive surgery.
The couple became engaged in September after dating for about a
year, and word began to leak after the vice president referred
several times to his "future son-in-law" at an event in
Wilmington, Del., on Friday.
Joe Biden also has two sons from his first marriage. His first
wife and infant daughter were killed in a car accident in 1972.
