I-95 crash victim ID'd as college soccer player

RIDLEY, Pa. - November 1, 2011

The university confirms the victim is 19-year-old Nicole Marzano from Clark, New Jersey.

The crash happened around 7:16 p.m. Sunday in the southbound lanes of I-95, just south of Route 420 in Ridley, Pa.

Marzano and two teammates were returning from a tournament at Drexel University when the crash happened.

Police say the driver lost control and her vehicle, a 2006 Cadillac SRX, slammed into a concrete barrier on the left shoulder.

The Cadillac overturned several times and Marzano, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected. She was found dead at the scene.

The driver and front seat passenger, who were both wearing seatbelts, were transported to Crozer Hospital, police said.
