Elderly woman falls from two-story window
PORT RICHMOND - November 6, 2011
It happened overnight on the 2900 block of Jasper Street.
Police say the 69-year-old woman fell from her window and was trapped in her backyard
Around 3:00 a.m. neighbors heard a dog barking and when they went to investigate, they discovered the woman crying out for help.
At first, arriving officers and medics were unable to reach the victim because of a fence blocking access to her property.
Fire crews were called in and were able to cut a hole through the fence to free the woman.
The woman told police she had fallen several hours ago.
The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital in stable condition, for a broken leg and injuries to her face, leg and arm.
The elderly woman's identity has not been released.
Investigators are still not clear how and why she fell.
