Mistaken identity in NE Phila home invasion

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA - November 21, 2011

So far there are more questions than answers.

Jay Roca and his family moved into the Crescentville rowhouse about a week ago. At mid-day Monday, Roca says two gunmen burst into the rental property looking for someone he says he does not even know.

The invaders then tied him and his wife up and searched the house. They apparently did not find the man they came for.

"They were looking for some guy named Jose," said Roca. "We don't know who that is. They tied me up, look at my hands. I was in my underwear and everything."

The attackers left and the Rocas "got themselves untied and then called police. It took them about 20 minutes to do that," said Philadelphia Police Lieutenant Thomas Tomlin.

Fortunately, no one was physically injured.
