Med school needs a few professional patients

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - December 16, 2011

Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale wants to hire real people for the medical students to practice their clinical skills.

The pro patients are paid up to 25 bucks an hour, to be poked and prodded by the docs-to-be.

Dean Dr. Martha Echols tells the South Florida Sun Sentinel there are limits to what can be tought using plastic models.
