Holiday gifts stolen from NJ church

RAMSEY, N.J. - December 19, 2011

Someone stole $3,000 worth of gifts for the needy at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Ramsey. The gift cards, toys and presents were stored in an unlocked room.

The Rev. Richard Kelly tells The Record newspaper the stolen goods are only a small portion of the items the 3,300-family parish had collected.

Kelly says parishioners wrote checks and donated cash soon after he announced the theft during weekend Mass.
