Clock is ticking for last minute shoppers

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - December 23, 2011

Some stores in the area are actually on a 24 hour schedule, and most stores in local malls will be open on Christmas Eve.

The bells are ringing and the time is ticking for last minute holiday shoppers.

Tina Drumm can't believe that there are only 24 hours left.

"It's crazy," said Tina, "especially today."

And especially on the inside where thousands packed into Cherry Hill mall Friday afternoon with their eyes on the prize or the gifts.

"It actually has been pretty busy, it's like black Friday," said one shopper.

Stores are pulling out the final discounts and keeping the doors open longer for people like Kevin Murphy.

"I'm just starting," said Murphy.

But Kevin wasn't the only last minute shopper. Many enjoy the last minute rush, while others are looking for the deepest discount.

"Of course, I had to help my brother out and bring him here two days before Christmas," said Caitlin Murphy.

But first the brother and sister had to make a quick stop to get a picture with Santa for their mother, a 28 year tradition.

For Kayla Noon's mom, she finally found the right present. "But I'm not going to say what it is," said Kayla. She wanted it to remain a surprise.
