Post-holiday shoppers search for deals

DEPTFORD, N.J. - December 26, 2011

"Shopping is real awesome today. Good deals, good deals," Michelle Starks of Sicklerville, N.J. told Action News.

Stores advertised all sorts of deals from 50, 60, even 75 percent off.

Still, some savvy consumers were not impressed.

"They need to do better. Some of them have good deals, but when I go in there, some of the stuff is thrown around. So they could do a little better," said Nia Hinton of Swedesboro, N.J.

The crowds were nowhere near the suffocating ones of Black Friday.

"It really hasn't been that crowded," another shopper told us. "Not where people have been knocking you down. It's been real comfortable shopping."

Some were spending their gift cards and cash. Others were just trying to maximize their holiday loot.

"I shop a little bit now and i actually bring receipts back to get price adjustments," said Devonna Starks of Camden. She told Action News she saved at least $60 that way.
