Tonight we kick off 11 days of cinematic celebration! The 22nd Philadelphia Film Festival gets underway with a red carpet event at the Kimmel Center. From now through October 27th more than 100 films from 36 countries will be screened at 5 venues across the city. Danai Gurira, who plays "Michonne" on "The Walking Dead" is the star of one of the films premiering here. She stars in Mother of George, which has screenings next Monday and Friday. The "Walking Dead" star is also a playwright. Her work called "The Convert" opened at the Wilma Theatre this week. It's the story of a young girl living in Zimbabwe in the 1800s. Gurira was raised there so the story line was close to home.
