The city's Animal Issues Committee says there has been an annual drop in the number of feral cats since September 2009, when 23 were spotted. The Daily Times of Salisbury reports that there were five sightings in 2011 and that none have been recorded so far this year.
Committee member Marcia Maldeis says an increase in kitten adoption has contributed to the decrease.
