It happened around 3:45 Sunday morning near 2nd Street and Allegheny Avenue.
Medics arrived to find that the impact of the crash split one of the vehicles in half.
A male passenger was ejected from the vehicle while the female driver was trapped inside for about 20 minutes.
Both victims were taken to Temple University Hospital, the female victim is listed in stable condition and the male victim is listed in critical condition.
Authorities are still unsure what sparked the crash.
