Dejon Alan Miller, 35, was arrested Wednesday in connection with the alleged assault in his North Hollywood apartment on Dec. 17. Miller and the woman were in a romantic relationship, police said.
At a news conference Monday, Los Angeles Police Department detectives explained how Miller, who goes by the name "Danger," allegedly used Craigslist.org to recruit female fitness models for one of his websites.
At the time of his arrest, Miller was on probation for a previous domestic violence conviction against another woman who he allegedly also met through his Craigslist advertisement.
Detectives said the women were subjected to emotional, sexual and physical abuse.
"The women did provide a photograph of themselves and agreed to meet with him and then a relationship shortly followed that," said LAPD Det. Brandy Arzate. "As far as things that he would do to them and force them to do, are things that I have not encountered as a detective."
Investigators have contacted five potential victims, but Arzate said there are more who are afraid or ashamed to come forward "based on the degrading and torturous things that he would do them." Detectives did not specify the alleged type of torture Miller would inflict.
"We're open to the possibility that he assaulted people that he was not involved with," LAPD Lt. Alan Hamilton said.
Miller was behind bars on in lieu of $1.3 million bail on charges of assault, attempted murder, spousal abuse and false imprisonment.
