Police: Teen web cam shooting in Kensington was accidental

KENSINGTON - June 6, 2012

The 18-year-old victim was last reported to be in extremely critical condition, suffering from a gunshot wound that police said was "accidentally self-inflicted."

It happened around 1:30 a.m. Wednesday morning at a home on the 1900 block of East Cumberland Street in the Kensington section.

Police say the victim was with two other friends in front of a computer interacting on a web cam when he was shot in the head.

Police say the witnesses to the shooting have corroborated what happened.

The victim was taken to Temple University Hospital. His name has not been released.
