Authorities say three people were injured after an alleged drunk driver crashed into their car on a Monmouth County, New Jersey highway this weekend.

Wall police tell the Asbury Park Press that 33-year-old Paul Hough of Lawrence faces various charges, including three counts of assault by auto.

Hough was driving a pickup truck eastbound on Route 138 when the crash occurred around 7:20 a.m. Saturday.

The driver of the other car, identified only as a 45-year-old Newark man, and two passengers in that vehicle had to be extricated and taken to a hospital with undisclosed injuries. Further details on their conditions were not disclosed.

A phone number listed for Hough's home had been disconnected Sunday, and it was not known if he had retained a lawyer.
