Man shot dead on crowded N. Phila. street

Police say gunfire erupted on a crowded street in North Philadelphia and a man in his 20s was shot and killed.

It happened around 4:20 Friday afternoon on the 2600 block of North Corlies Street.

Authorities say the man was shot in the chest, and at least one time in each armpit.

The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

According to police, the street was packed with people at the time of the shooting. Investigators say they're having trouble getting witnesses to cooperate.

No arrests have been made and the victim's name has not been released.
