Officials were called to a shooting just before midnight in the 1800 block of Cecil Street.
A man was found shot and rushed to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where he later died.
There have been no arrests or motive for the shooting and the victim has not been identified.
Police continue to investigate.
