Regional Rail train kills pedestrian in N. Philly

PHILADELPHIA - July 20, 2012

Officials say, the victim was a male, but have not released his name or age.

The accident happened near the North Broad Station and was cleared around 9:00 this morning.

The statement from SEPTA says a Regional Rail train traveling from downtown Philadelphia to Lansdale and Doylestown hit someone around 6:30 a.m.

Normal service has resumed for northbound trains on the Lansdale/Doylestown and Manayunk/Norristown lines. They had temporarily bypassed the affected stop in north Philadelphia.

The circumstances of the accident remain under investigation.
