A helpful citizen stuck out his foot Tuesday night when he spotted a police officer in Lexington, Ky., chasing a suspect.
Police say it began when Jamory Russell arranged on Craigslist to sell allegedly stolen jewelry to a prospective buyer.
When he noticed a police officer standing with the buyer, authorities say Russell took off.
Enter an upright citizen, who stuck out a foot and tripped Russell, which allowed the police officer to capture him.
Russell pleaded not guilty Wednesday to several charges, including resisting arrest and theft.
