Brandon Murray was ordered to spend seven to 14 years behind bars after entering a no-contest plea to third-degree murder Tuesday in the death of his 5-week-old son, David, in September 2009.
Murray has been in custody since the boy's death and will get credit for time served.
Dauphin County prosecutors say they believe the Middletown man suffocated his son but he told investigators he accidentally fell asleep on top of the boy.
Murray's attorney says his client does not admit any guilt but wanted the case resolved.
An autopsy found David Murray had a fractured skull, two broken leg bones and a broken finger.
