Crews working to repair water main in Cherry Hill

CHERRY HILL, N.J. - August 2, 2012

Chopper 6 HD was over the scene in the 2700 block of Chapel Avenue between Cooper Landing Road and Knollwood Drive as workers drained the area of the remaining water.

Workers on the scene said a 30 inch transmission main started leaking sometime Wednesday night.

The road was closed at 8:00 a.m. Thursday and repairs are expected to last about 12 hours - perhaps more.

Officials say Chapel Avenue will remain closed to all traffic in the area as cleanup and repair efforts continue.

While the road closure will be a headache for drivers in the area, this won't be as big of a problem for water customers. So far, only one house has lost water.

The township and the water company were taking bottled water to that home to help get them through the repair.
