Police received a 911 call around 9:12 p.m. from a resident located on Lords Corner Road reporting that a man had been shot in the face.
When police arrived they found a 32-year-old victim. He had been riding in a car with two other subjects when he was shot by a small caliber handgun.
The victim was able to flee the vehicle and run into a cornfield before getting help from a nearby residence.
He was taken to Kent General Hospital and later flown to Christiana Hospital where he is currently listed in critical but stable condition.
Police arrested Friday morning Bruce D. MacConnell from a residence in Felton and his girlfriend Brenda M. McMillan from a residence in Magnolia.
MacConnell and McMillan were charged with reckless endangering, possession of a firearm and conspiracy.
MacConnell was also charged with resisting arrest after fleeing from police the day after the shooting from a house in Dover.
MacConnell was arraigned on $102,500 secured bail and McMillan was arraigned on $100,000 secured bail.
