The truck was in the southbound lanes of the bridge, headed into Delaware, when the fire broke out around 10:15 a.m.
The view from Chopper 6 HD showed the white truck nearly destroyed.
The fire was extinguished around 10:45 a.m. and all lanes of the bridge were open by 12:45 p.m.
The driver has been identified as Lewis Matthews of Ellicot, Maryland.
No injuries have been reported.
