Man wounded in police-involved shooting in North Phila.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA - August 25, 2012

The shooting happened around 3:00 a.m. in the 2500 block of North 4th near Cumberland Street.

Police say four officers and a sergeant were working undercover when they noticed a man speeding towards them.

The officers approached the vehicle and the man inside pulled a gun on them.

The police fired at the man, striking him twice.

He was rushed to Temple University Hospital and is listed in critical condition.

Police have recovered the suspect's gun.

One officer suffered minor injuries when an airbag in the suspect's car deployed and hit him in the face.

The suspect has not been identified.
