Detergent packs spark new warning for parents

For the second time in less than 4 months, the nation's poison control centers are putting out a new warning about the potential hazards of detergent gel packs.

The gel packs have only been on the market since February, but there have now been nearly 2950 calls about kids swallowing them, mistaking them for candy.

More than 700 of those calls were in August alone.

The packs are about the size of marshmallows, and bright colored, similar to peppermint candies.

Several companies have promised to make the packaging safer... But those products are not out yet.
