The fire happened on the property of a home in the 1200 block of Washington Street.
Firefighters say they arrived to find smoke in the rear cottage behind the main house.
Once they were able to make their way inside rescuers found a man, in his 50s, dead.
That man's name has not been released.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation. Officials say it does not appear to be suspicious.
